Balasore: A 58-yr-old man and his 30-yr-old son from Jaleswar area of the district cleared the annual Matric Examination with equal marks on Monday.
Both Arun Kumar Bej and his son Biswajit passed the exams by securing equal marks – 342 out of 500.
The duo was attending classes in the week-end at Chaitanya Dev High School at Dagapunji that allows school dropouts of any age to appear for high school certificate examination.
While Arun, a senior district BJP leader had left his studies after Class VII after the untimely demise of his father, Biswajit discontinued his studies after he failed in matriculation in 2004. He had opened a shop in his village.
Meanwhile, Arun is mulling over higher studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
