Baripada: A fake IAS officer was arrested from Damodarpur village under Khunta police limits in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Monday night.
The accused has been identified as Rajat Panda. He hails from Tihidi area in Bhadrak district.
Rajat has created a fake profile on Facebook site pretending to be an IAS officer Lingraj Panda and working as Sub-Collector in Malkangiri district. He was arrested for marrying a girl of Damodarpur posing himself as an IAS officer, said Khunta police station IIC Rina Behera.
A case of cheating, forgery and impersonating a public servant has been registered against the accused, Behera added.
There are several cases of fraud pending against Rajat at different police stations in the state, sources said.
