EOW to probe irregularities at OSCB Rourkela branch

Cooperative Bank Rourkela: Odisha government on Wednesday directed the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch to probe financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 29.57 crore in Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB), Rourkela branch.

Speaking to reporters here. Cooperation Minister Surya Narayan Patro, said, “According to the report of a special audit, three former branch managers Siba Kumar Das, Sanjeeb Mishra and Raghunath Sahoo had shown undue favour to the loanees without keeping any security. So, the EOW has been asked to probe into the matter.”

Patro also ordered the bank registrar to initiate proceeding against all accused and directed OSCB Managing director to initiate legal action against the erring bankers.

Massive financial irregularities were found at the Cooperative Bank during the tenure of the three former branch managers between 2005 and 2015.
