Kendrapara: Kendrapara Police today arrested an Engineering student from Dhimat village under Nikirai police limits for involvement in a loot.
The accused has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Parida, a final year Diploma Engineering student.
Informing on the arrest to media, Kendrapara SP Dayanidhi Gochhayat said the accused was involved in a loot incident which took place at Gajapati Collector Sudhanshu Mohan Samal’s ancestral house located at Indupur village on January 11.
Sneaking into the house in the night while Samal’s family members were away in some work, the accused had looted a mobile phone and Rs 12,000 cash.
Interrogation of the accused is on to gather information on the loot items, the SP said.
