Nayagarh: Making a mockery of the existing healthcare facility in the state yet again, an ailing elderly man was carried on a trolley-rickshaw to hospital in Krushnachandrapur Patna village under Daspalla Tehsil here today as 108 ambulances did not turn up.
The incident took place early in the morning today after the victim identified as Musha Nayak (60) visited his paddy field at around 4 AM and fell sick over there. Unable to move to the hospital on his own and in absence of a vehicle, Musha’s family members called up the ambulance to rush him to a nearby hospital. However, the ambulance did not turn up even after hours of wait.
Family members of the ailing man then carried him on a trolley-rickshaw and took to Daspalla Hosptial located around 3 kilometres away from the village.
Locals have demanded stringent action against the 108 ambulance authorities for such negligence.
