Guwahati: Odisha’s ace sprinter Dutee Chand on Thursday qualified for the forthcoming Jakarata Asian Games in Women’s 100 meters event too. She qualified for the running event after finishing with a timing of 11.42 seconds during the ongoing 58th National Inter-state Senior Athletics Championships here today.
Dutee had earlier qualified for the 200 meters event also.
Another Odia athlete Srabani Nanda also entered semi-finals of Women’s 100m event after completing the heat-1 with a timing of 11.96 seconds.
Both Dutee and Srabani had won silver and bronze medals respectively in 200 meters running event yesterday. However, Srabani failed to make it to the Jakarta Asian Games-2018.
Hurdler Jauna Murmu, shuttler Rutaparna Panda and rower Sanjukta Dung Dung are the other three Odia athletes who have been selected for Jakarta Asian Games-2018.
