Phulbani: In a bizarre incident that points at the flourishing drug trade in Kandhamal district, drug peddlers torched a ganja-laden vehicle near Krandimaska village on Wednesday after it developed some technical snag.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning when a group of drug traders was busy transporting a large stock of ganja in a Maruti Suzuki Alto car through the Phulbani-Boudh route. It is suspected that the drug-laden vehicle developed a technical glitch mid-way near Krandimaska village. Out of fear of getting caught, the traders torched the vehicle before fleeing the spot. The vehicle was reduced to ashes following the incident.
Police has reached the spot and started investigation into the case.
