Bhadrak: One person was killed after a sand-laden tractor flipped upside down at Tarini Chhak near Bachhipur area under Basudevpur police limits in the district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Abhiram Sethy of Brahamanigan village and was working as a driver for a private transportation company in Basudevpur.
The mishap took place in the morning while the victim was on his way to deliver a tractor-load of sand consignment in Barandua village after getting the load from Bekanuti Chhak. Near Tarini Chhak he lost control over the wheels causing the vehicle to slip into a nearby farmland and overturn. Abhiram remained stuck under the tractor and sustained critical injury following the mishap.
A fire brigade team reached the spot and rushed the victim to Basudevpur CHC in critical condition later in the day where doctors declared him brought dead.
