Dilip Tirkey appointed OTDC Chairman

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday appointed the former captain of Indian national hockey team and BJD’s ex-Rajya Sabha MP Dilip Tirkey as the Chairman of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC).

Dillip, a Padma Shree awardee tribal leader of the state was elected unopposed to the Upper House of the Parliament on March 22, 2012. His tenure ended on April 2, this year.

Born on November 25, 1977 in Sundargarh district of Odisha, Dillip has carved out a special place for him in the hearts of sports lovers in the state. He has also won several accolades for Odisha in the hockey.

OTDC is a state government undertaking. It was incorporated in 1979 to promote tourism in the state as well as to operate some of the existing tourist bungalows and transport fleets existing in Odisha on commercial basis.
