Dilip Sahoo among 4 ‘Divyangs’ appointed in KISS Bhubaneswar: Dilip Sahoo, who lost his left leg and hand in a train accident, was among the four ‘Divyangs’ whom Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) University appointed on the occasion of the International Day of Persons With Disabilities on Sunday.

Apart from Sahu, the other three differently-abled persons whom KISS appointed are Sahu’s wife Anita Barik, Suchitra Patra and Debasis.

They were given the appointment letters by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS and KIIT at a special function which was attended by R K Sharma, Assistant Director of National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA)’s Odisha region as Chief Guest.

Notably, Dilip Sahoo, a visually challenged singer lost his limbs after being pushed onto the railway tracks by a thief who flicked his mobile phone at Balasore railway station on July 3. After initial treatment at Balasore hospital, Sahoo was shifted to Bhubaneswar’s KIMS Hospital where he was given free treatment. Dr. Samanta, during his meeting with Dilip had assured him to give him appointment in KISS.

On this occasion, the KISS authorities also felicitated all the differently-abled students undergoing education in the institute. More than 100 Divyang students are getting education in KISS.

Professor Harekrishna Satapathy, Vice Chancellor of KISS, RN Das, Secretary of KISS, Julius Lakra, Registrar, P. K. Routray, CEO of KISS, Sasmita Rani Samanta, Registrar of KIIT and Educationist Ashok Kumar Pandey were among other dignitaries who attended the special function that was orgainsed for the ‘Divyangs’.
