Dharmendra writes to Sushma; seeks 7 more Passport Centres in Odisha

Dharmendra Pradhan's letter to Sushma Swaraj Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has written to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj seeking the opening of seven more new Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Odisha.

In his letter to Sushma, Dharmendra pointed out that there is a demand for issuance of passport by people from different walks of life including students, research scholars, businessmen and tourists. The additional POPSKs in Odisha will expedite the application process, he wrote.

The Petroleum Minister has sought new POPSKs in Angul, Berhampur, Balasore, Kendrapada, Bolangir, Jajpur and Bhawanipatna.

The opening of the Centres at these locations will greatly enhance the access to passport services for people residing in these towns and adjourning areas, he added.

Earlier, three POPSK services were opened at Rourkela, Sambalpur and Koraput of which the first two have already been inaugurated.
