Berhampur: A youth killed his father over a trivial issue like, refusing to give him Rs 5 to purchase liquor in Sidhapur village under Badagarh police limits in Ganjam district last night.
The victim has been identified as Abhi Das.
As per the report, Abhi indulged in a verbal duel with his son Babula Das late last night after the latter asked him for Rs 5 to purchase liquor. As the victim expressed his unwillingness for giving money for liquor, the accused who was also in an inebriated condition dragged him to a well located near the house and pushed into it in a fit of rage. The victim sustained critical injury in the attack and drowned to death inside the well in minutes.
Badagarh Police reached the spot after getting intimation on the incident and arrested the accused son.
Body of the deceased was fished out of the well with the help of the fire officials later in the night and was rushed for autopsy.
