Dengue claims another life in Odisha, this time at SCB

Cuttack: Dengue claimed another life in the state yesterday taking the death toll to two this year.

According to reports, one Trilokya Barik of Dimiria village under Nandipada police limits of Keonjhar district died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

Dengue nodal officer Sriprasada Mohanty informed that Barik was admitted to the hospital a day after he was tested positive for dengue on June 22. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU of the Medicine department.

The hospital authorities, meanwhile, have kept ready a special dengue ward with 150 beds with six ventilators.

Notably, a woman, who was tested with dengue positive, succumbed to the vector borne disease at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on June 7.
