Dalai Lama arrives on a two-day Odisha tourBhubaneswar: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama arrived here on Monday on a three-day Odisha visit.

He is scheduled to hold talks on a “range of issues” with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas today.

The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate will be conferred with the 10th “KISS Humanitarian Award” in a special function tomorrow at 9 AM.

According to KISS sources, at the outset, the students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) will sing the welcome song during the award presentation, which will be followed by the welcome address by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS & KIIT. Then, Dalai Lama will be conferred with the prestigious award. The other guests will also be felicitated on the dais.

Later, the 82-year-old Buddhist monk, who will be the first Nobel Prize awardee to get the KISS Humanitarian Award, will address the gathering.

As per the press release issued by the Commissionerate Police, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate will meet the Tibetans from Chandragiri Tibetan Settlement between 1 PM to 1.45 PM during which the Tibetan Settlement Officer is scheduled to present a brief report on the Tibetans.

The Tibetan spiritual leader will leave for Kolkata by at 10.20 AM on November 22.

Notably, the Tibetan leader is now on a week-long three-city tour to Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
