Jagatsinghpur: Vigilance officials raided houses and office of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Tax Collector Bijay Ketan Nayak located at different places, over amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income on Thursday.
An 11-member team of Jagatsinghpur Vigilance unit conducted raids at Nayak’s office located in Cuttack town, ancestral house at Dhuanpari village in Jagatsinghpur district, in-laws house in Pratap Nagari in Cuttack along with three other houses owned by him in these districts this morning.
During the raid the anti-corruption bureau officials checked bank accounts, land records as well as other vital documents existing in the name of Nayak and seized movable and immovable property worth over Rs 15 lakh.
The raid was underway till this report was being filed.
