Cuttack: The JMFC (Rural) court here on Tuesday allowed the Commissionerate Police to take one of the dreaded gangster Dhalasamant brothers, Sushant Dhalsamant and jailed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) corporator Ranjita Biswal on a three-day remand. Their remand period will begin from today.
The Sadar police will question both of them to extract information of their unholy nexus and unravel the modus operandi in connection with the firing on contractor Bijay Kumar Pal of Subhadrapur. They will also be grilled on other cases too.
The CMC ward-7 corporator was arrested by the city police on March 7 for her alleged involvement in the firing case. The cops arrested her after knowing that she had supplied firearms to one Mrutyunjay Nayak alias Miku, who was arrested on March 4, for trying to kill contractor Bijay KumarPal.
During his interrogation, Miku had revealed that Sushant had orchestrated to kill four contractors including Bijay Pal being inside the jail.
