Bhubaneswar: Accepting friend request from a stranger on Facebook has ruined the lives of at least two girls in the city who have now filed complaints against a single youth here on Thursday.
According to reports, Saumya Ranjan Sahoo of Talcher area in Angul district who now lives in Bhubaneswar came in contact with two girls on Facebook. After developing friendship with them he lured the young girls.
As alleged by the girls, Sahoo had sexual relation with them and had promised to marry them. He used to take them on trips and had captured the act on his camera. On suspicion, when the girls threatened him to approach the police, he used to marry them in temples with the promise of getting married to them with all vedic rituals later. When being pestered consistently regarding the marriage, he threatened to put the sex videos and photos on social media.
The victims have now together filed FIRs against the person with the help of an NGO ‘Friends Foundation’. Both of them have demanded stringent action against Saumya Ranjan alleging that he may make their objectionable photos and videos viral on social media platforms. One of the girls has alleged that the accused had taken Rs 55,000 from her.
