CM to inaugurate Koraput medical college; classes from today

Koraput Medical CollegeKoraput: Classes would commence at the Saheed Laxman Nayak (SLN) Medical College and Hospital here today following the inauguration of its premises by Chief Minister Naveen Patanik.

Naveen, who would visit the new medical college premises at Janiguda area under Bhairabsinghpur, would also unveil a statue of Saheed Laxaman Nayak, the legendary freedom fighter from Odisha.

Notably, the college, with an intake capacity of 100 students in the First Year classes of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course for the year 2017-18, has completed all infrastructure arrangements and preparations for the admission process.

Classes would commence for the First Year MBBS course in the institution from today itself after the inauguration, according to sources.

SLN Medical College and Hospital at Koraput is the fourth government medical teaching institution in the state after SCB in Cuttack, VIMSAR in Burla and MKCG at Berhampur.
