Cuttack: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested a retired senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Officer in connection with the multi crore Seashore chit fund scam.
The accused officer has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Hota. He was arrested from his residence in CDA sector- 6 here.
Soon after his arrest, Hota was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment.
Hota is accused of extending undue favours to the Seashore company while he was posted as Managing Director of APICOL (Agricultural Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited ), according to CBI..
A joint bank account of Hota had suspiciously received Rs 19.70 lakh between 2008 and 2011, CBI said.
