The rescued minors have been identified as inmates of Bimala Balya Anathashram and aged between 8-12 years.

A team of officials comprising of Jharsuguda Childline Coordinator Asish Kumar Panda and members Satish Chandra Mishra and Radheshyam Nayak rushed to the railway station after getting a tip-off on the whereabouts of the missing minors who had managed to flee from the orphanage earlier in the day.

“One of the rescued children belongs to Rourkela and the rest are from Bargarh districts. They have been kept at the Jharsuguda Childline Centre and efforts are on to find out the cause behind fleeing the orphanage. They would be produced before the Child Welfare Committee later and all arrangements of their stay at a child care institution would be made,” said Panda.

As per a decision taken by the Child Welfare Committee, the rescued minors would be sheltered at an Open Shelter of the Childline till further order.
