CAT for IIM admissions on Nov 26

Bhubaneswar: The Common Admission Test (CAT),  2017 to select candidates for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other management institutions in the country would be held on November 26 this year, said a notification released by the CAT on Sunday.

The CAT would be held at a number of centres spread across 140 cities in the country for which the registration process would continue from August 9 to September 20, 2017. Candidates would be given a choice to provide four cities as options to take the test. Tutorial on the format of the test would be available on the CAT website starting from October 18, 2017, according to the notification.

According to the notification released by the IIM (Lucknow), which would be conducting the entrance test this year after a long gap of seven years, CAT 2017 would be held in two separate sessions and the duration of the test would be 180 minutes with three sections namely, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Abililty. Candidates would be given 60 minutes for each separate section to answer the questions and would not have the choice to switch between the sections in between.
