Casting Couch: Papu Pom Pom Seeks Time To Present His Side
Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pom Pom on Tuesday sought one month time to present his side in the Orissa High Court in connection with the minor casting couch case.
He sought time from the Special Degignated Court through his advocate. The court was slated to conduct the hearing on the case today.
Statements of the witnesses and victim have been recorded. Besides, police have submitted the complaint copy and medical reports to the court.
The Commissionerate Police, which is probing the case, had also framed the chargesheet in the case.
The stand-up comedian has been charged under sections 354 (A), 506 and 509 of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
As per the POCSO Act, he will be awarded three years’ imprisonment if found guilty.
Papu was arrested on June 30, 2016 on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl after promising her to give her a break in films. However, he was released from jail after the High Court granted him conditional bail on August 10, 2016.
