Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing of Odisha Crime Branch arrested a builder for allegedly duping people to the tune of more than Rs 4 crore.
Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch officials arrested Premananda Mohapatra, chief of Golden View Infrastructure Private Limited, for duping people on the pretext of providing them flats.
Mohapatra had taken money from the people to provide flats in Tamando area, on the outskirts of the city, and Jatni. However, the accused neither provided them flats nor returned their money, following which the duped people had lodged a police complaint against him.
