Kendrapara: Tension ran high in Akhua village under Patkura Police Station area in the district last night after a group of unidentified miscreants hurled a country bomb of low intensity at a local’s house.

The bomb was hurled late in the night while the victim Chinatamani Parida’s family was asleep at home. The miscreants arrived near his home on a bike and hurled the bomb targeting his door grill. They immediately fled from the spot.

Chintamani lodged a complaint at Patkura Police Station in the incident this morning and suspected the involvement of a group of men in the village with whom he has a land dispute.

“I had levelled a piece of government land belonging to the State Irrigation Department located near Chitroptala River bank a few days ago, to set up a house. A group of persons in the village tried to encroach it later. However, they were prevented from encroaching the land by police after I lodged a complaint in this regard. I suspect their hand in yesterday’s bomb hurling,” said Parida.

Meanwhile, Patkura Police have reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
