Cuttack: In yet another instance of how a law enforcer turns into a law breaker, a woman in the Madhuban village under Athagarh sub-division of the district has accused an IIC of sexually harassing her and maintaining an unholy nexus with a local fraud.
The woman, in her complaint with the Cuttack SP and SDPO as well as State Women’s Commission, has mentioned that she had paid a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh to one Baban Jena of Barang area to provide her daughter a job few months ago. As Jena neither returned her money nor kept his promise, she lodged a complaint against him at the Tigiria Police Station at a later stage. However, Tigiria Police Station IIC Sushant Satpathy allegedly misbehaved with her during a visit to her house for questioning in the case.
“The IIC unwantedly entered into my bedroom and pulled my hands to make me sit with him on the bed. Later on he tried to misbehave with me which I protested,” the woman said.
“I suspect an unholy nexus between the IIC and the fraudster,” she added.
However the accused IIC has rubbished all charges brought against him and said if he is guilty, law would take its own course.
“She had given a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh to a person in the village to provide her daughter a job. The man duped her at a later stage and fled with the money. A case is under investigation in this connection and I have no nexus with the accused. The sexual allegation that she has brought against me is false and fabricated,” said the IIC.
