Pravat Biswal shifted to SCB from Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar: Arrested BJD MLA Pravat Biswal was on Monday shifted to the trauma intensive care unit (ICU) department of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack following the advice of doctors at the Capital Hospital.

Biswal was shifted to the premier government hospital in Cuttack after the medical team consisting of Orthopaedic, Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology specialists, which had been formed for the treatment of the MLA, suggested his shifting to SCB for better treatment in Neurosurgery.

“We have referred the MLA to SCB hospital as the doctors’ team, which was formed to treat him, opined today that he should be shifted for better treatment in Neurosurgery due to nerve compression over his back surgery which was conducted earlier,” said Capital Hospital director Chitta Ranjan Das.

The legislator, who was arrested by CBI in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam, was admitted to the Capital Hospital on September 22 night after being examined by doctors at Jharpada Special Jail.

The CBI Court in Bhubaneswar on September 23 had rejected the Choudwar-Cuttack MLA’s bail plea. His counsel Anup Patnaik had applied for the bail citing health reasons.
