Bhadrak: In an unfortunate incident, a bike-borne man was killed and another person was severely injured after an 11kv electric wire fell on them near Panikoili square on Bhadrak-Chandbali main road on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Shantanu Patra. He died on the spot while his injured friend has been admitted to the Chandbali Community Health Centre (CHC).
The incident took place when the duo was going towards Bhadrak from their native village Pachuchikiti.
Demanding compensation for the family of the deceased youth and free medical treatment of the injured, irate locals blocked the Bhadrak-Chandibali main road.
Meanwhile, Chandbali police rushed to the spot and is trying to pacify the locals. Besides, they sent the body to the hospital for postmortem.
