Biju Patnaik Birth Centenary : Pranab Mukherjee to unveil pictorial biography

Bhubaneswar: BJD MP Pratap Keshari Deb on Thursday informed that former president Pranab Mukherjee will release a pictorial biography of legendary political leader and former Chief Minister of Odisha Biju Patnaik on his birth centenary celebration on January 27.

Clarifying that the centenary celebration of the former CM is not a party affair of BJD, Deb said that Biju Patnaik Centenary Committee will organise the event and several senior leaders from different political parties across the country have been invited to attend the event.

Pratap said that veteran BJP leader LK Advani, Communist Party of India (Marxist) chief Sitaram Yechury, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and some Union Ministers are slated to take part in Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary celebration in the state.

During the Janata Party government of 1977, Biju Patnaik was the Cabinet minister for steel, mines and coal and L.K.Advani was his cabinet colleague being the information and broadcasting minister.
