Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has decided to renovate Baramunda bus-stand, the largest bus-stoppage of the state, and develop it as an inter-state bus terminal.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, after chairing a high-level review meeting at State Secretariat, informed that the Barmunda bus-stand will be renovated with a cost of Rs 180 crore.
The work is slated to begin by the end of this June on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode and will complete within 15 months, he added.
Padhi also informed that the tender formalities are under process while detailed project report (DPR) has already been prepared.
Though the partner for the project is yet to be finalized, land has been demarcated near Khandagiri area for an ad hoc bus stop where buses will be parked till the completion of the work at Baramunda bus-stand.
Development Commissioner R. Balakrishnan, OSRTC CMD K.B. Singh and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) vice-chairman Dr Krishan Kumar were among others who attended the meeting.
