Cuttack: Hours after angry cricket fans broke barricades after failing to get tickets for the T20 international cricket match between India and Sri Lanka scheduled to be played on December 20, police arrested six persons for black-marketing the tickets in the city on Sunday.

As per Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh, the Special squad of Commissionerate Police, acting on a tip-off, conducted raids and nabbed six people on charges of black-marketing the tickets. Police also recovered 40 tickets from their possession.

Police are interrogating the arrested black-marketers to find out the involvement of others and extract more information about the matter, added Singh.

After the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced that tickets for gallery no 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 were over, some of the cricket lovers got fumed and alleging black-marketing of the tickets, broke the barricades and ransacked the ticket counters in the presence of police earlier today.
