Bhubaneswar: Odisha IAS Association today strongly condemned the attack on the official residence of senior IAS and Odisha CM’s Private Secretary VK Pandian and passed a resolution against it at a special meeting here.
The meeting chaired by Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Gagan Kumar Dhal and attended by over 30 Odisha cadre IAS officers took exception to the incident and dubbed it as vandalism and hooliganism. Expressing their concern over the growth of such cases in the recent times they demanded for stringent action against the accused with no further delay.
Briefing the media on the meeting, association’s secretary Vishal Dev said, “Members have expressed their deep anguish, agony and grief on such incidents. The association has also noticed that such incidents are happening regularly in recent times. Tehsildars, Addl Tehsildars and RTOs have been assaluted by miscreants in past few days. The association strongly condemns all such attacks on all government servants.”
“On this occasion we would like to thank all the other associations, the IPS, the OAS and the Forest Association for who have expressed solidarity with us and strongly condemned the incident. We stand united with Mr Pandian and all other government officers who have been attacked by miscreants”, added Dev.
The association has decided to meet the CM, the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary to submit a resolution that has been passed today. It has also demanded follow-ups in such cases to bring the accused to books and prevent more such attacks from happening in future.
