Phulbani: An army jawan allegedly raped a woman home guard last night at Telisahi of G. Udayagiri of Kandhamal district.
According to reports, the victim was raped by the army jawan on the roof of her rented house while she was alone. The jawan has been identified as Tulu Pradhan of Penagabhari village under Tikabali police limits of the district.
Pradhan works in Bihar Regiment, an infantry regiment of the Indian Army and had recently come to his village on holidays.
He has been detained by the G. Udayagiri police based on the complaint of the victim and booked under section 448, 341, 323, 354, 376, 114, 506 and 34.
The victim has been sent for medical examination.
