Ananta Ojha’s body to reach Odisha in minutes

Bhubaneswar: The mortal remains of noted Odia playwright, Jatra director and actor Ananta Ojha would reach his native village Biranilakanthapur this afternoon where his last rites would be performed in the evening. Ojha died at the HCG Cancer Hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday after battling with mouth cancer.

As per the sources, Ojha’s body is expected to reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport here at around 1.30 PM from where it would be directly sent to his native village in Kendrapara district. Later on, the body would be kept at his residence for some time to let his supporters and well-wishers pay the last visit and pay homage.

After taking the body of Ojha on a massive rally through different streets in the Kendrapara town, the last rites would be performed in his native village till 8 PM.

Ojha’s family members suffered initial trouble in getting his body released from HCG hospital after his death at around 6.30 PM on Sunday. The hospital authorities denied handing over Ojha’s body to his family members due to the non-payment of due bills of around Rs 7.60 lakh. Later, Odisha Government paid the bill to the hospital in a humanitarian gesture on Monday.

Ojha is survived by his wife, three sons, daughter and mother.
