AIIMS Student Missing: Odisha Police Leaves For Delhi to trace Suhail

Bhubaneswar: A three-member team of the Commissionerate Police on Thursday left for Delhi in search of missing Kashmiri student Suhail Aijaz of city based AIIMS, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.

Suhail’s father Aijaz Ahmed Kataria received a call from a Public Call Office (PCO) in Gurugram on Wednesday that some people had seen his missing son there, he said.

Bhoi also said, the police team will take help from the local police locate the PCO from where Suhail’s father had received a call. The police team will also examine CCTV footage, talk to Kahsmiri people in the locality to find more details about the missing AIIMS student, he added.

Last week, a three-member team of commissionerate police had gone to Kolkata, where the mobile phone of Suhail was last traced on February 10, but returned empty handed.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had recently requested her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik to expedite investigation to trace missing Kashmiri student of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.

Notably, 19-year-old Suhail, a resident of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir and pursing MBBS at the AIIMS here since 2016, left his hostel on February 9 and has been missing since then.
