Bhawanipatna: A college going girl on Monday sustained severe burn injuries on her face and hands after a jilted lover threw acid on her at Bankapada village under Kalampur block in Kalahandi district of Odisha.
She was rushed to Kalampur Community Health Centre in a critical condition.
The accused has been identified as Parsuram Majhi of the village. He threw acid on the face of the girl while she was on her way to attend computer class this morning. The victim had reportedly rejected his love proposal.
Majhi has recently come out of the jail in connection with another crime. He was found absconding from the village after throwing acid on the girl.
A case has been registered against Majhi at Kalampur police limits in this connection.
