AAP Odisha to hold farmers rally in city on July 17

AAP to organize “Krushak Adhikar Samabesh” on July 17Bhubaneswar: To press its demand for relief to the beleaguered farmers, the Odisha unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will organize a “Krushak Adhikar Samabesh” in Bhubaneswar on July 17.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, AAP Odisha Convenor Nishikant Mohapatra said that both the Union and State governments have drastically failed to address the issues of the farmers and shut their mouths either by killing them or threatening them when raise their voice for their rights. Therefore, APP has decided to organize a samabesh to press the demands of the farmers on July 17, he said.

The demonstration will be held at Lower PMG at 11:00 AM, he added.

Some of the demands which the political outfit wants the governments to fulfill for the betterment of the farmers include waiver of all farmer loans, declaraction of the farmers killed in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh as martyrs, provision of Rs 50,000 compensation for the loss of crops on every hectare of land and setting up of cold storages in every Panchayat.

Apart from the “Krushak Adhikar Samabesh”, the party will also conduct a signature campaign and will organize Krushak Adhikar Jatra from September 11 to November 11, Mohapatra said.

Moreover, a massive demonstration will be organized by the party at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on October 2 followed by a national-level Krushak Adhikar Samabesh in New Delhi on November 26.

AAP Odisha Secretary Nandlal Singh, Treasurer Shyamananda Mohapatra, Khurdha district president Soumya Ranjan Swain and state youth president Subrat Chhatoi were present during the press meet.
