5 KISS students selected in Indian U17 girls rugby team

5 KISS students selected for Asia U-17 Rugby ChampionshipBhubaneswar: Five students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have been selected in Indian U17 girls rugby team to participate in the ‘Youth Olympic Games Asia Qualifiers in Rugby Game’ to be held in Dubai from November 29 to 30.

Sumitra Nayak, Soni Mandangi, Lija Sardar, Jemamani Naik and Parbati Kisku are the five students selected for the Rugby Championship. Sumitra had earlier captained the Indian side.

They were selected after the completion of the training session at Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, from November 7 to 26. USA Men’s 7 head coach Mike Friday was giving them the training.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT & KISS congratulated the KISS players on being selected to play for the country.

Similarly, Odisha Rugby Football Association (ORFA) president Priyadarshi Mishra and Secretary Upendra Kumar Mohanty also congratulated and sent their best wishes to them.
