Kendrapara: Rajnagar police in the district arrested five youths on Sunday for making some pictures of a college girl and her male friend viral, which they had clicked after stripping them. This was informed by SP Niti Sekhar.
The arrested youths have been identified as Nimai Padhihary, Sukanta Mandal, Sambhu Mandal, Mani Mandal and Akhaya Sethy. All the accused persons are between the age group of 20-30 years.
Sekhar also said that efforts are on to nab other accused who are at large.
Rajnagar police station IIC Sukanta Kumar Patra informed that police have registered a case under Section 341, 323, 293, 509, 376, 511, 379, 34 of IPC, Section 8, 14 of POCSO Act, and Section 66 (c) and 67(A) of Information Technology Act, 2000.
Notably, a 17-year-old girl, a Plus Two student of Rajnagar based – Sri Sri Jagannath College, had gone to the Pentha sea beach along with her male friend on last Thursday.
Around seven unknown persons appeared there and forced the girl and her friend to accompany them to a near-by forest where they asked the minor girl and her friend to take-off their clothes. Besides, they attacked them physically and clicked photos which they have made viral on social media.
Later, father of the victim had filed a police complaint on Friday.
