4 years of Modi Govt: Congress observes “Betrayal Day” today

Bhubaneswar: The Congress is observing “Betrayal Day” or “Vishwasghat Divas” across the nation on Saturday to mark the completion of four years of BJP-led government at the Centre.

“On the completion of four years of the BJP-led government on May 26, the Congress has decided to hold dharnas, protests in every district of the country to expose the Modi Government for its betrayal of the people’s trust. The Congress will raise all issues due to which the common man is troubled by this government,” said AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot while releasing posters in New Delhi for party’s “India Betrayed campaign” yesterday.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Cuttack in Odisha to address the nation highlighting his government’s achievements in last four years.

Modi will give his government’s report card at the historic Bali Jatra Ground in the silver city of the eastern state.

The Prime Minister is sheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport here at 3.25 PM from where he will depart for Cuttack at 3.45 PM. He will reach Cuttack at 4.15 PM. After addressing the nation, he will depart for New Delhi from Bhubaneswar at 5.50 PM.

The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre completes four years in office today. It was on this day in 2014 when Narendra Modi was sworn-in as the Prime Minister of India.

However, the State Congress unit in Odisha has already announced to stage demonstration during the Prime Minister’s visit protesting the recent unprecedented rising of petrol and diesel prices as well as other issues due to which people of Odisha have been suffering including Mahanadi river water issue.

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal is scheduled to join the protest of State Congress unit here today. He is likely to hold a press conference here in this regard.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the twin city of Odisha- Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in view of Modi’s Odisha visit.
