Keonjhar: At least three persons sustained critical injuries after a lorry truck smacked into a speeding passenger bus on NH 20 near Siapada under Anandpur tehsil today.
The injured have not been identified so far.
The mishap took place early this morning, minutes after the passenger bus namely ‘Sai Shankar’ (Registration No. OR 11 G 5792) carrying commuter set out for Bhubaneswar. Near Siapada Square, driver of a speeding lorry truck coming from the opposite direction, lost control over the wheels and struck the bus head on.
The driver of the bus along with two passengers were rushed to Anandpur Community Health Centre (CHC) in a critical condition by some locals. They were shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack later due to deteriorating health later.
Anandpur Police have reached the spot and seized the mangled vehicles.
