2nd Traffic Police Station in city at Chandrasekharpur soon

2nd Traffic Police Station to come up at ChandrasekharpurBhubaneswar:  In a bid to tackle the growing traffic problems in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate of Police has decided to open a second Traffic Police Station in the city soon.

Informing about this today, Police Commissioner YB Khurania said that the second Traffic Police Station will come up at Chandrasekharpur, one of the busiest areas of the city. A proposal in this regard has already been submitted to the state government, he said.

The proposed traffic police station will have two Jeeps and 15 bikes, added Khurania.

Currently, there is only one traffic police station near the A.G. Square. The Traffic Post was previously functioning from a small building near IDCOL, Unit-II before being shifted to its present location near A.G. Square in 1997. It was upgraded to a Police Station on February 25, 2009 and became functional on March 2, 2009.

There is one Inspector, seven Sub-Inspectors (SIs), three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 11 Head Constables and 114 Constables at the existing traffic police station.
