Keonjhar: At least 25 passengers sustained injuries and three of them turned critical after an Angul-bound bus veered off Kanjipani Ghati on NH-6 near Ghatagaon area in the district last night.
The incident took place at around 2 AM in the night when the ‘Sai Baba’ bus (OD 11A 1232) carrying passengers from Tata in neighbouring Jharkhand State was on its way to Angul. It is suspected that while driving up to the Kanjipani Ghati the driver of the bus lost control over the wheels causing the vehicle to plunge down the road and fell from a height.
At least 25 passengers including some children who sustained injuries in the accident were rushed to the Telkoi CHC and Keonjhar DHH by Kanjipani Police which reached the spot immediately and started rescue operation. Condition of three of the injured in the mishap is stated to be critical.
Police has started investigation into the incident.
