Cuttack: At least two youths were killed after the bike they were travelling on was hit by a car at Similipur High School Square under Banki Police Station area in the district last night.
The deceased have been identified as Subash Behera and Rohit Behera of Karabara village under Banki Tehsil.
The mishap took place in the wee hours of night while the victim duo was on their way to village after some work in a neighbouring village. Near Similipur High School a speeding Ford Figo car (Registration No. OD 02 AN 6334) came extremely right on the road and struck the duo from the front. The victims sustained critical injury in the collision and bled profusely on the spot.
Local Fire Brigade officials rushed the injured duo to Banki Hospital in critical condition after reaching the spot later in the night. While Subash died under treatment at the hospital, Rohit succumbed while being shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack due to deteriorating condition.
Banki Police have seized both the vehicles involved in the crash and started investigation.
