Paralakhemundi: In a crackdown on Maoist sympathisers in the district, Adaba Police today arrested two militia members of CPI (Maoist) group from Birikote village under Mohana block. The arrests were made on the basis of an old warrant.
The arrested duo has been identified as Raghunath Nayak and Peter Mallick of Birikote village.
“The arrested Maoist sympathisers duo were involved in a number of deadly attacks carried out in and around the Birikote area by the red rebels in 2008. While one of the accused Raghunath had been arrested by police earlier, he was on bail at the time of his rearrest today,” said Mukesh Lakra, IIC, Adaba Police Station.
Police have forwarded the arrestees duo to court.
