2 killed in separate mishaps in Narasinghpur of Cuttack

Cuttack: At least two persons were killed in separate mishaps which took place in Narasinghpur block in the district on Thursday.

In the first incident which took place last morning, one Bhagirathi Pradhan alias Lucky (18) of Jilinda village was on his way to Gurukrupa Technical School to attend an examination when the mishap took place. Due to reckless driving, the victim lost control over his bike near the school and ended up hitting a roadside tree.

Though some locals rushed Bhagirathi to a nearby hospital in critical condition following the crash, doctors declared him brought dead there.

Jilinda Police has lodged a case in the incident and started investigation.

In another incident in the block, a middle-aged man met watery grave while fishing in a pond in Alara village last afternoon.

Identified as Niranjan Behera of Kakudia village, the victim was busy in fishing in Harijan Sahi Pond in the locality when got stuck in algae. He could not be able to come out of the pond and drowned to death few minutes later.

Narasinghpur Police has lodged a case of unnatural death in the incident.
