2 die of asphyxiation, one critical in Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: Two persons died of asphyxiation and another became critical while removing centring of a septic tank at Mandosil village under Paikamal police limits of the district today.

The deceased person have been identified as Karunakar Patel and Madan Bariha.

According to reports, Sushant Bag of the village had roped in Patel and Bariha, who worked as labourers, to detach the centring of his under-construction septic tank this morning. Another man named Nepal Netam, a mason, was also engaged in the task.

Moments after the labourers entered into the septic tank, they did not respond, following which Netam went inside the tank in a bid to rescue Patel and Bariha. However, condition of all of them became critical due to suffocation.

Sushant called the fire personnel who rushed to the spot and rescued all of them with the help of the locals.

Karunakar and Madan died while being taken to the district headquarters hospital. On the other hand, Netam is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
