Keonjhar: One person was killed and two others sustained critical injury after a bike they were traveling on was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Melana Square under Ghatagaon police limits in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Pintu Behera of Uparadiha village. The injured are Dipu Naik and Kuna Moharana of the same village.
The trio was traveling from Ghatagaon to Anandpur on the bike in the wee hours of night when the mishap took place. Driver of a speeding unidentified vehicle coming from the opposite direction lost control over the wheels and ended up dashing against the bike head-on at Melana Square. The vehicle managed to escape from the spot following the crash.
Pintu, Dipu and Kuna sustained critical injury in the collision and were rushed to the Ghatagaon CHC by police, later in the night. After Pintu died under treatment at the CHC, the rest two were shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack where they are still in a critical condition.
