Trailer of Nila Madhab Panda’s film ‘Kadvi Hawa’ out

Bhubaneswar: The much awaited movie of internationally acclaimed Odia filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda with the climate change subject ‘Kadvi Hawa’ had its trailer release on Monday. The movie which unearths the harsh reality of Bundelkhand region of central India has already got a special mention at the 64th National Film Awards, this year.
Golmaal Again Star Ajay Devgn released the trailer on social media with the caption, “A trailer worth breathing in @imsanjaimishra. #KadviHawa”
The movie has won praises from several forums for its pertinent subject of present day effects of world climatic change is also having the privilege of getting another Odia on board, Akshay Parija, a Dubai based Odia filmmaker known for his offbeat movies.
Parija, acknowledged for his films on original stories having Odia flavour, has been widely praised for his projects like, ‘Jianta Bhuta’ and ‘Thukul’ earlier.
Director of the movie Nila Madhab Panda is having several accolades to his name like, ‘I Am Kalam’ (2011) and ‘Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid’ (2012).
Kadvi Hawa unfolds against a backdrop of an encounter between an elderly blind man and a young bank loan recovery agent who hail from two regions with extreme weather condition, having least contribution to climate change. While the elderly man hails from Bundelkhand, the young man comes from coastal Odisha who lost his family in the devastating cyclone. The daily suffering of the duo due to climate change has been showcased in the movie.
With a stellar cast in place including Sanjai Mishra, Ranvir Shorey and Tillotama Shome in it, Kadvi Hawa is expected to leave the audience introspecting about adverse effects of climate change.
Notably, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS)- world’s largest residential institute for tribal students, has become the academic partner for the Kadvi Hawa movie.
