‘Sui Dhaaga’ Logo Released; Crafted By 15 Artists From Across India

Mumbai: The logo of Anushka Sharma-Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Sui Dhaaga’ was released yesterday on the occasion of ‘National Handloom Day’. The logo celebrates the richness and diversity of the Indian handicrafts and has been designed by indigenous artisans and craftsmen from all across the country, featuring their unique stitching designs. The logo is being projected as 100 per cent ‘Made in India’.

Revealing the logo, Actress Anushka Sharma tweeted-

As per reports, the makers of ‘Sui Dhaaga’ spent almost six months to plan and design the logo in 15 different styles of needlework viz Zardozi from Lucknow, Phulkari from Punjab, Phool Patti from UP, Kashida and Sozni from Kashmir and Rabari and Mochi Bharat from Gujarat.  The logo also features Pipli Chandua, West Bengal’s Kantha stitching, Rajasthan’s Aari, Banjara and Gota Patti, Tamil Nadu’s popular Toda style and Karnataka’s Kasuti embroidery.

The logo of the film is the first in the entire history of Hindi film industry to feature so many stitching styles and needlework. It aims to highlight the essence of the film besides promoting awareness regarding India’s huge gamut of fabric and embroidery.

Directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It stars Varun Dhawan as Mauji, a tailor and Anushka Sharma as Mamta, an embroiderer, in lead roles. Principal photography began at Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh in February 2018 and the film was also shot in Bhopal and Delhi. ‘Sui Dhaaga’ is scheduled to release on 28 September 2018.
