Mumbai: Malala Yousafzai was just eleven years old when she started writing an anonymous diary under the pseudonym Gul Makai, a heroine from Pakistani folk lore. The diary was published in BBC Urdu and chronicled life under the Taliban rule in the Swat Valley.

Now, five years after she was shot in her head by the Taliban, Indian soap TV child actor, Reem Sameer Sheikh is all set to play the role of the Pakistani activist in her upcoming biopic ‘Gul Makai’. Reem has shared a poster from the movie in her official Instagram account.
